Thanks Dean - I was thinking of a 2br BCV in August so perhaps that may work. Otherwise I may just try to rent the 3br Marriott week; I have zero experience renting anything out but there's always a first time.

There are plenty of sites to rent your week - Redweek, Tug, Craiglist are a few I have used sucessfully. You can also post here and several other site to trade your week for a DVC reservations.

My experience so far is no matches.

We put in August 07 for Marriott Maui Ocean Club June 08. In February we cancelled the serach and booked The Grand Wailea.

We have been on the exchange list since August 07 for a week in July 08 Harborside at Atlantis two bedroom sleeping 8 any week in July.

We just added Marriott Aruba Ocean Club, Marriott Frenchmans Cove and Marriott Aruba Surf Club. Maybe we'll get something.

I doubt anything is coming through. Its our turn to treat so other then exchanging we may just have to pay for a two bedroom somewhere.

Last year my brother in law used their time share for the first week of vacations at the Marriott KoOlina(beautiful, clean nice place to stay) They own two weeks there and traded one for the 2nd week at Marriott Maui Ocean Club but we already booked the Grand Wailea.

We saw the property for the Disney Vacation Club there. Also I found that not all resorts have 2 bedrooms that sleep 8. Most only sleep 6. Marriott seems to have the 2 bedroom that sleep 8.

I think all of the 2 bedroom Westin Resorts sleep 8.

Not all of the Marriott's do but it's mostly the older ones that are sleep 6.
