Interstate 4

For those that have driven on I-4 recently. Is there currently construction and how bad is the traffic? Anyone recommend an alternate route?

The I4 project between SR343 and Kirkman has not started yet. There is a large road widening between Daytona and Deland, exit 118. That is not too bad as there is still 2 lanes each way.

Traffic is like always. Don't be on I4 between 7-9a and 3-6p from SR436 to the FL Turnpike if you can help it. Use SR417 or SR429 depending on from where you are coming from during rush hour times.

Thanks. Will be driving down in a few weeks and wanted to know if I should look for an alternate route from I-95 to WDW.

You should be fine. The I4 stuff at the start in Daytona flows well as they are building 3 new lanes for each side but they started with the westbound lanes first. These are being build with no traffic on them and both east and westbound traffic run two lanes each on the old eastbound lanes. No net lane loss.
