Interoperable Tolls Take Long Time to Post

Perhaps this is well known, but I was surprised to find that a Georgia toll took 3 days to post to my Sunpass account. I have the previous-generation moveable Sunpass (the one valid only in NC/GA/FL). When I saw massive traffic on I-75 near Atlanta a couple weeks ago, I remembered that my Sunpass worked in GA and scooted over to the Express lane. Two days later and nothing on my account--was getting worried that GA would send me some kind of citation for unauthorized use of lane. But then it showed up on the third day. That seems like a long time for tolls to update on one's account, although I realize interoperability must be complicated.

On a side note, this was on a Saturday and I have never seen such crazy traffic in Atlanta on the weekend. It looked like they were closing multiple lanes so I guess that's the reason. I would advise all I-75 drivers to check ahead when approaching major urban centers as there wasn't a lot of notice that traffic would be slowing to a crawl.

Even E-Pass tolls in the Orlando area take a day or two to post to my SunPass account, whereas SunPass tolls go through right away.

I have an E-Pass Xtra (E-ZPass interoperable) and E-Pass tolls typically post within one minute. I had an E-Pass toll this past week end take over two days to post since it was processed as a video toll (apparent toll plaza equipment malfunction).

SunPass tolls typically post to my E-Pass account the following day.

I had an MD E-ZPass toll a couple of weeks ago that took over five days to post to my E-Pass account. I've also had MD E-ZPass tolls post to my account late in the evening on the same day.

I had a Georgia toll take 9 days to post to my E-Pass account (I have a Uni transponder.)

Also I had a couple of tolls from GA never post to my account in early 2022 and I never got a violation notice in the mail. Even searched my license plate on Peach Pass and no violations were found. Not sure about that one.

You were surprised it took them one whole business day to post a toll across systems? I'm shocked they did it in one day. It was 8 days for all of the charges from CFX to post to my I-Pass last year when I brought it with me.

I guess I expected better. As Mel Brooks once observed, "Even in the future, nothing works."

I have an NY E-Z Pass and that’ll take multiple days to post an in-state thruway trip. Or post some gantries on trip+0, some on trip+1, some on trip+2. No rhyme or reason.

CFX and Turnpike seem to be good about posting to my E-Z pass in 1 business day.
