I plan to upgrade my security to a new system, any advice? I will not use norton any more. I like Panda, but I can not find a store in my area that sells it . Any ideas?
I would recommend either Computer Associates' eTrust Suite, or Microsoft's OneCare (which is currently still available as a free beta, but will be on sale soon).
I use Panda, it is only available online as far as I know. I think it is great. I too use to use Norton, for many years, never again. Panda is great, IMO.
I also use Zone Alarm for firewall, in addition to router, and Ad-aware Plus, Spysweeper, all three of those the pay-for versions, not the free ones. The pay-fors are proactive, run in the background, update as needed. Also, Microsoft's Defender anti-spyware.
I down load panda and it found the files that nortons did not know about. It is sad that a company that once was a leader in internet security has fallen so far behind.
Well, be careful. Different companies have different perspectives on what is bad and what isn't. Also, the more conservative utilities (like Panda and McAfee) tend to have more false positives.

Panda really runs great. Ihave used it now for about 3 or so years, runs flawlessly, updates every day, sometimes multiple times if any serious new threat rears its head. I do only use the Platinum antivirus, anti-spyware, not their full Internet package.

I can deal with a false positive better than not picking up anything. I had some adware that nortons found and could not do any thing with it. It never deleted the files. Now my system shuts down faster and the start up is faster also.
I'm another Panda fan... I've been using it for around three years as well. Dan -- W2K News promo?
I've liked it enough to add it to my wife's machine and purchase a three-year license for each. Thus far I describe it in one word -- flawless. Additionally, I run sun-belt's I Hate Spam and CounterSpy. All three get a big
