internet reservations confirmation

If i make my reservation through expedia or the AAA website, will I be able to call WDW to confirm it? Is the confirmation the same as the ones you get through CRO? Will I be able to enter that number for confirmation on WDW website? Anyone done this?

These web sites have the room available for my dates but CRO is sold out of moderates for the same time period. I'd rather book through Disney but I will do what any savvy Diser would do to get the room she wants.

No, if you make a reservation through any travel agent system, they actually "own" the reservation and you cannot make inquiries or changes.
