Internet Help - cannot access xanga, etc

Hi there,

My dd came to me with those puppy eyes & said she can't get on her xanga, , & some other type of forums. Does anyone have an idea where they could help me clean up whatever to help her?

I have cybersitter, but don't have those sites blocked. We ran adaware, and I am in the process of downloading a new version of Norton.

Try disconnecting cybersitter and test it. If that doesn't work then I'm not sure.

I've had cybersitter for a couple of years now, but if all else fails I'll try it.

I've never worked with cybersitter so I do not know Mary Jo, but I know that with Netnanny they will occassionaly send out an updated list of blocked sites. I think I had to go in there somewhere and specifically add in a few places like Myspace as a manual override to their standard list.

Additionally if you are using a fire wall other than windows-such as norton you may need to add them to trusted sites or lower you security level-updates to your applications may have blocked them since message and chat sites are often sources of viruses.
