Which resorts have an internet connection? I am going to have to do some work on our next trip ( :sad2: I know I know, but if I don't do SOME work then I won't be able to go)

I really want to stay at a moderate, and I don't have AOL so if I need to do dial up I really won't be able to do it. I know there is that room that has the computers at CS so I could just stay there and use that if worse comes to worse, but I would like to figure something out for my room!

:wave2: thanks!

If you are asking if they have high speed internet access, I think that is available at all of the resorts now. I was at CSR & GF earlier this month and it was available at both resorts.

I was disappointed to learn that AKL did not have wi-fi! But if you want to stay at a Moderate, Coronodo Springs has it and I thought it was a pretty nice resort.

I would guess that as time goes on, they will continue to add it.

I guess if AKL had wi-fi, I would have done work late at night, so it was a good excuse not to. I still brought my lap top to download my digital photos every time I returned to my room.

Don't work too hard! :flower:

In-room internet is *not* available at all resorts. As quoted in the link posted by another person, here's the scoop:

Value Resorts: none have internet access.
Moderate Resorts: the ONLY one with internet access is Coronado Springs Resort, the others (CBR, POR, POFQ) do not have internet access. (I double checked this myself since my DH will need internet access during our trip and we were originally booked for POR)
Deluxe: all have internet access

Not sure about the Home Away From Home resorts but I believe they are all new enough to have access.

Many if not all of the deluxe resorts have wireless connections available at specific points (locations) in the resort.
HTH

Thank you guys SOOO much!!! It says I need a LAN... what is that? hahahaha I have no idea

Oh, and it says there is wireless in some of the lobby areas... I have a wireless card but will I have to pay to use it? (I don't really know how that would be billed)

AKL ( a deluxe) does NOT have wi-fi!

And yes, you have to pay. I thought that I read it was about $10.00 a day (usually that is for a 24 hour period of time)

Oh, and LAN:

A local area network (LAN) is a group of computers and associated devices that share a common communications line or wireless link and typically share the resources of a single processor or server within a small geographic area (for example, within an office building). Usually, the server has applications and data storage that are shared in common by multiple computer users. A local area network may serve as few as two or three users (for example, in a home network) or as many as thousands of users (for example, in an FDDI network).

I don't remember where I read it, but I just recently read that POR will have high speed 9/1. Just in time for my 9/27th arrival!

Just back tonight from POFQ and they have in room High speed for $9.95 for 24 hours. THey even have ethernet cables to loan you. I thought about trying it but the kids would have been on it constantly, but it's good to know it's out there.

If you do not have a LAN cable, just call mousekeeping and they will bring you one (along with instructions on setting everything up ;) ). No charge for the cable as long as you leave it there when you check out.
