Did anyone do the unlimited internet package? Did the unlimited access apply to your whole family? Did you find the computers readily available or did you often have to wait?

Also was it easy enough to access aol, yahoo etc. for email retrieval and chats?

Would you know if it was high speed (such as dsl)?

Any answers to these questions or other input regarding the Internet Cafe will be greatly appreciated!

my dad bought the unlimited package and we all used it but that is against the rules of DCL and my twin got in trouble for doing that but the times i went the guy who moderates the computers or what not was never there so i checked my email and often allowed some of my friends to check there email just because of price and all it really wasn't worth it just ot check email.

there was maybe 2 times the whole week i had to wait for a computer but when someone saw me waiting they usually finished up quickly and so i maybe would wait 5 minutes but then again i was usually on the computer around midnight or 2am

it was easy to access everything with checking aol mail you actually sign on to aol and go through aol servers,

as for the speed i'm not sure but it was pretty quick so i'm guessing it was high speed not sure though i never thought about it.

Thanks for the info! Mind if I pick your brain a bit more?

How are you identified as having purchased the package....separate id card, tied into your KTW or what?

Thanks again!

Ok, I also have had the unlimited package every time. What they really frown on is a whole group using one terminal. then they will definitely shoo away. Me and my DW used it individually all thru all three cruises.

The way they do it is you need to know three things: Your room number, and the First inital/last name and birthdate of whoever is top on the reservation(usually who made it), then an automated sequence will guide you through making a login name and password for you time of using it. Then you only need know the login name and pw from that time on.

You get two choices up front, either login to AOL or go to a web address, which will at that point allow you to get mail form any service that has webmail. They're more setup as terminals, so you're limited in what you can do with them, but printing is available at 25¢ a sheet.

Would I be able to upload digital photo's to my Ofoto site? I was thinking that I could load the photos to my laptop and edit them in my cabin, burn them onto a CD then upload them to Ofoto at the Internet Cafe. This way I could share my photos with friends and family right away and have less to do when I get back home.

It's sounding like this may not be possible if they're only "terminals". Perhaps there isn't an accessible CD drive, is there?

No, you won't have access to any drives or ports. The only way to upload photos is to bring your laptop computer along, transfer your photos to a floppy disk, and then ask the Internet Cafe manager (during the hours that the Internet Cafe is staffed) if they will allow you access to the floppy drive.

Thanks, Dave!

Would it have to be a 3 1/2 inch old fashioned floppy and not a CD?

Gee, I don't know. I suppose they might be willing/able to provide access to a CD drive. I guess I didn't think that many people had writable CD drives on their laptops yet.

Has anybody been able to sucessfully use
www.gotomypc.com
in the internet cafe. It requires a "plug in" so I would guess DCL would block it but I just thought I'd ask to see if anybody has tried.
