Internet at DVC

Has anyone been able to pick up an internet connection with a wirless connection while stay at a DVC resort? I was wondering if there are any free hot spots at the resorts.

No free hotspots provided by Disney. There's a chance you could find an unsecured access point if a fellow guest brings his/her own wireless router. But there's no way of knowing whether that will happen or not.

If you are staying on points at a DVC resort, there is free wired internet in each unit.

As others have said there is no free wireless in the rooms. I've heard there are a few in the lobbies (Boardwalk I think) with wireless in them.

All of Disney's APs are secured.

There are several posts about bring your own router/Access Point(AP) in the room. That is what I do.

Owners have been getting free internet access for DVC point stays since May.

You should not have been charged if you were staying on your own points. If you were a renter, then you would not be eligible for the free internet--although I have heard that some renters have gotten the perk as well.

It has been free for a while now, since before Christmas. Was your stay at OKW on points and are you a member? If so, then you should ask about getting the charges refunded. Despite the fact that it is supposed to be free to members staying on points, several people have reported finding charges on their statement and having to go to the front desk during their stay to get them removed.

It was free for me staying at OKW the week after Thanksgiving 2008.

Now you do have to click though the agreement, which says something like-

You agree to pay $10*.
(lots of other random text about stuff)

*BTW if you are a DVC member staying on points you will not be charged.​

So if you just based it on the standie in the room or a quick look at the login page, you might have missed it.
