Is there any internet access within DVC? Ideally, I would like to connect via my notebook whilst staying at OKW and BWV.

Thanks!

most have phone jacks built into either the phone or I recall the table lamps on the desk, looking for a local number may be a bit of a trick as Orlando numbers may not be local as Kissimmee numbers will be considered local calls. I believe outgoing data calls were charge back to the room at 25 cents vs. 75 for voice (I maybe off on the rates)

Actually, some Orlando numbers are local calls and Kissimmee is a long distance call.

Every WDW resort room has a dataport on the phone. Just check with your ISP for local numbers. There is a listing in the phoine book in the room showing which numbers are local- or you can verify with the operator. I use netzero.net - a free ISP- with very good local connections in Orlando.

Usually, local calls are .35 for DVC members and .75 for others. Some members have reported no charge for local (and 1-800) calls. Your mileage may vary.

Enjoy!

I stand corrected on the rates, been a while.........Just a side note for Doc, ever been berated (in a fun way) over the proper way to say Kissimmee??? Happened last trip to us from a local resident........always a learning experience......:)

LOL! Yes, that seems to be a rite of passage in the area! :)

Right of passage -- great! We finally learned about 1975 after saying it wrong for about 4 years.:D

I'm not very good at semantics, but will give it a try.

Pronounce the "Ki" as in the work "kick"

follow by "SEM" as you might say the name "Sam" except pronounce the "e" correctly, or even more like an "i" would sound, as in "Sim". I've heard it both ways from locals.

follow by "EE" as in "eeek".

It's pronounced as 3-syllables with an accent on the 2nd syllable:

Ki-Sim'-ee
