Hiya, just wonderring if anyone has experience off internet access in FL, I will be taking my laptop and our villa has free local calls but i dont know yet how I will connect, can I use my existing ISP (Virgin) or do I need to sign up to a local FL isp, any help is much appreciated
Ta in advance

If your villa has free international calls and you have a landline number you can access your virgin account on you should be able to use it .If not then you need to sign up for something like

http://www.budgetdialup.com/

before you go just make sure you access it through a local number otherwise you may end up paying a telephone bill

What I do is use my wireless access card and connect via Boingo software (free) to the broadband connections readily available in many hotels, coffee shops etc..the cost is quite reasonable and is broadband, i.e. at least four time quicker than dial up.

Your villa will have free local calls, but local is not the way we think in this country, i.e. kissimmee is a seperate local area to Orlando.
You will not have free interbational calls plus if you do try to connect to your virgin account, the call must allow Callre Line identification (CLI) which it probably will not have.

I have always used www.juno.com for dial-up access.

You can download before you go and each time you use it, you can select a local phone number for anywhere in the US.

Just make sure that you download the free version and not the Platinum version which requires a subscription. You are limited to 10 hours access per month which is ample fore email etc.
