Can anyone tell me whether it is worth taking a laptop to Disney or if there are pcs available for use in most of the resorts?

and whether I should consider buying a mobile internet dongle while I am there? Or use the ISP available in resort.

My concern is that Disney will block all ISP except themselves so that I will have to pay for it in addition. If it anything like the cost of the hotel I am staying in the moment, it will be approx £15 for 24 hrs.

I just find that having internet access comes in very useful, especially if we are trying to be a little spontaneous and need to find out any information while we are there.

Thanks in advance

a few of the onsite resorts have a business center, but they cost an arm and a leg to use...i don't recall the rate, but it's by the hour or half hour and it's costly...i can't remember which have them - probably the deluxes...

we always take our laptops to use in the room....i can't remember how much they charge for the in room internet connection...something like $10 for a 24 hour period..

i don't know anything about the availability of mobile modems for purchase...

We stayed at yacht club last year and there was free wifi in lobby area I'm sure that's the same for a few of the resorts

Its $9.95/24hrs in Disney resorts, wired not wireless. Free to DVC
Some manage to get 2 days out of 1 x 24 hour payment, go on late one day then early next day before the 23 hours is up. We tried last August but still had to pay for 14x 24hrs out of a 16 day stay. Just under $140. This August 21 days onsite so expecting around $200.:sad1:

We have a nice desktop pc so not really possible for us take a laptop, to be honest it's not top of my list of things to have on holiday, I like to get away from the computer.

The World Of Coffee is an internet cafe at Lake Buena Vista Factory Stores and the rates are quite cheap for up to an hours time.
I would go there personally.

Thanks,
it sounds like we may just take it to use in the lobby of the BC.

I dont want to be carrying it around and wont take it if it turns out to be too expensive. I suppose $10 isnt too bad, it is definitely cheaper than the £15 we just paid this weekend.

We have just stayed at a Marriott hotel in Southampton where the phone and internet access was blocked by Marriott, forcing us to book our ADRs for Disney using Marriotts own ISP. Bit of a cheek really, but that was why I queried it. Maybe it is a standard thing??
