I'm going to have to get online one day next week while staying at the Ft, to register for classes. I have read on here that there is access at some sites and also in the registration hall, but my mom called earlier to disney reservations, and they told her there is none there, only at some of the disney hotels?? She said they have cable hookups but no internet. Does anyone have any firsthand experience with this, please help?

Do you have your own laptop?? If so, then there are several ways to get online at the Fort.

If you are at a preferred campsite, then you can go to the front desk and check out a cable modem, and for $9.95 per day you can have high speed internet access right at your camper.

If you are not at a preferred campsite, then you can go to the front desk and in the little building in between the check-in lanes there is an internet cafe.

They have regular dialup connections for no fee (just find a local Orlando number for your service provider), and they have high speed connections for $9.95 per day. (No computers there, just the connections.)

If you do not have your own laptop, then you will need to pop into the business center at one of the convention hotels. (Contemporary, Dolphin, Swan, and there may be others). They have computers with internet access where you can swipe you credit card and they have a per minute fee. (Don't know what that is).

Yes I do have my own laptop, as well as a wireless card. Thank you...that is what I had been reading and finding all day but I got scared when my mom said central reservations told her there was none whatsover at FW. Hopefully she just doesnt know what she was talking about and they haven't changed anything...

While I was there I brought my laptop to the building in the front between the two outside checkin areas. This was the first time I had used it and I was impressed that there were so many stations there. The only drawback is the stool is hard to sit on. They did have the local AOL numbers on a stand up card so it was easy to go to access numbers and verify and it gives the directions...and since I only use dialup, didn't cost a thing!

If you go the cable modem route. Get your name on the list at check in to get a modem. Someone here arrived on a Saturday and did not get cable modem until Wednesday, that was with bugging the front desk several times a day.

The internet Cafe might be the best idea. Be sure and pack a ether net cable. THey might not have wireless access. I keep a six foot cord in my Laptop case at all times.

Several local businesses, like Starbucks, have free wireless access for your laptop. The shopping center on the right near the intersection of 192 and 27 has a county library with computers available, high speed, no charge. About fifteen minute drive from FW.

We used our cell phones and laptops to access the internet from our camper. It was kind of slow (about like dial up), but we only needed to check email....and of couse disboards, haha. I'm not sure what providers charge for the service though. (dh works a manufacturer of cell phones and we have free service). It worked well for what we needed the internet for while at FW.
