Anyone use the internet access at SSR as of yet?? I know a few of you have stayed there and was wondering if SSR has wireless access or some other type of internet access. We'll be coming home in July, 16th - 23rd. I was planning to bring my laptop but only if the access was availalbe. Thanks for any help.

I'd like to know too. We're coming home in January. I'll be bringing the laptop to clear the digital cam memory card each evening, but would love to be able to keep in touch with friends and family if it's available.
Am I remembering correctly that the SSR safes will hold a laptop? We're staying in a 1BR. (not sure if we'll ever stay in a Studio with the proper banking and borrowing of points)

There is a broadband port in each room. Bring you own network cable. The cost is $9.95 per 24 hour period. I'm not sure if there are any WiFi hot spots (possibly in the Carriage House if any).

The phones also have a dataport for a dialup connection.

The safes are large enough to hold a laptop, but I've always left mine out without any worry about theft. there is a great desk in the master bedroom with the dataport built in for easy access and a comfy place to work.

Enjoy!

Thanks WebMasterDoc,
I've been reading your posts on SSR and you seemed very happy with SSR. DW and I can't wait to get down there and see the place. :jumping1:

Logged in from my studio at SSR right now. No wireless but there is a data port right next to the table.

What kind of speed are we talking here, 10MB, 100MB??
And I'm jealous, I've got 52 more days before I get to see SSR.

Feeling stupid here, but what is a network cable? My laptop is wireless, so I haven't had to deal with any cables, lol, on vacation. I could have sworn SSR was going to have wireless capabilities, but I may be wrong. (phone cord, cable modem cord?)

So I bring my laptop and what else? thanks!

A network cable (or a cat 5 cable) is what computers use to hook up to high speed internet connections, The jacks on the end are slightly bigger than those on phone cords and the cable is usualy wrapped in blue plastic.

If you go to a computer store and ask for a cat-5 cable, the clerk should be able to help you.
