In 2006, I purchased a 120-point SSR contract from G M A C as a Christmas gift to my DW. My agent was Jackie Muenzner.

From the very beginning, I felt very comfortable with her abilities, her knowledge of DVC, and her know-how in putting together a ROFR-passing contract.

I was kept well informed during every phase of the purchase, from contract negotations to closing. Even if only to say hello, and make sure I knew I wasn't waiting alone, Jackie would email or telephone. She made absolutely certain I knew what was going on throughout the entire process.

We are now members, and we have a luncheon invitation with her when we make our first visit "home" in October. I'm so happy with Jackie's representation, I'm thinking I'll buy lunch.

DH and I are currently closing on 2 contracts with Jackie from GMAC. So far, we've had an excellent experience. She knows what she's talking about and was very honest and upfront with everything I asked. In addition, she was responsive and patient with my 101 questions!

I would definitely purchase from her again.

Count me as another GMAC customer. I started out with one agent but then he went on vacation and I believe Jackie finished the sale. I was very pleased with the experience.

I used GMAC because they had different contracts than TSS and they had the contract I wanted. At the time there were not many good recommendations for GMAC but I took the chance anyway that it would all work out.

Thanks everyone on the great recomendations. Jackie was GREAT. She had just what we were looking for. We agreed to purchase a OKW resale contract today. We are very excited to finally be DVC owners.

Wishing you luck in passing ROFR! That 2 - 3 weeks takes forever!

Here's what happens next...
* Submitted contract for ROFR on 1/16.
* Found out on 2/2 we passed ROFR (call from Jackie).
* At this point we are waiting for the estoppels from Disney,
which we will hopefully have by the end of next week (2/16). Once the
estoppels are received, the title company will prepare the closing docs
and send them out. At that point, all funds will be due and we'll officially be DVC members!

Can anyone tell me whether GMAC takes credit cards for either down payment or for the full purchase?

Did anyone use them for financing?

We are considering a 100 point contract, roughly how much for closing costs?

I wanted to consider everything before I contact them directly.

I've posted elsewhere how Tom twice had the chance to earn my business, so I won't belabor that point here.

It's funny... It's always, "I've heard [this]", or "I've heard [that]", but never "I personally experienced [this particularly bad thing with GMAC]." As far as I'm concerned regarding GMAC, there isn't any other DVC specialist in Orlando. That company is completely honest, forthcoming with information, and their DVC Specialists are wonderful to work with. AND most importantly, they got the deal done...

we are buying a 40 point contract with GMAC based on the rec. form Delaware Mike. When I called Jackie- it took her less than 2 minutes find the contract that was right for me. I made a deposit over the phone with a CC- (which she held through Monday so I could confirm with my Husband)- I recieved my contract Tuesday Morning. Answered all of my questions, everything has been great.
I looked at the TSS, but when I was ready to buy they didn't have any contracts with low points. Nothing wrong with that. If I went to a store for black pants, but they didn't have my size, I wouldn't just buy brown pants, I would look at the store across the street to see if they have what I need, right?
If GMAC has what you are looking for, I don't think you will be disapointed with your service. It seems like both companies are very good to work with.
And yes, I asked- you can purchase the entire contract with a CC if you wish, however, they don't take AMEX. But I would double check with your agent just in case.

I'll take my chances. I have heard some negative things about GMAC on this very board. If the search functioin was working I'd find it.

Now the poster that stated Tom had two chances to earn his business..... well lets hear it or post a link to that thread. I touted TSS as a great company if you have had dealings otherwise it would certainly be fair to post it in this thread as it would apply here.

Yes, Jackie took my CC for the deposit.
I will not be financing through them, but Jackie did tell me for a very small contract (2k) they will take the CC.
(BTW Jackie assisted me with my sale and as I said before she was great...)

I remember some of those earlier posts re: GMAC since I was looking for a resale at the time. If I remember correctly, the majority of posters who actually used GMAC turned out ok, but they felt they weren't as well versed on how DVC resales/ROFR works as the other major DVC resellers.

Since GMAC had what I was looking for (and the others did not), I decided to take my chances and all went well. However, I was also glad I did so much research here on the DISboards beforehand.
