International Gateway???

Ok So if the WS does not open until 11. Can I still walk to the international gateway in the morning to do FW??

And questions: Does Epcot do anythign special at the opening. I know that AK and MK do......

You can go through IG at Epcot opening, but they have the paths blocked off and you can only go to either Norway for the breakfast, or to FW. As for a special opening ceremony, I seem to remember they do something in front of SE, but it's been a while so that may have changed.

I am not sure of the answer to the 1st question, but I would think so. Simply becase Intl' gateway is the link to all the Epcot Resorts/Boardwalk area. In fact, the friendship launches drop you there. But I have never used the Gateway prior to lunch time

As far as Epcot at Opening, the Character Bus pulls up and they sing a song or too before they drop the ropes. We were right at the ropes last year one day, and walked hand & hand with the MS cast members as they led us to the ride.

We use this entrance all of the time. As Mickey Maniac mentioned you can walk throught the Int'l Gateway at opening. As you walk in to the WS the bridge leading to to France (on the right) will be roped off.

You will be able to walk all the way to Norway since they have the princess breakfast, then it will be roped off after that. Everything that isn't actually roped off that you can walk through (UK, Canada and Mexico) is closed so you wouldn't be able to do anything in those countries until they open at 11:00. Of course FW is opened so you would be able to walk through UK and Canada to FW.

If you had an 8:30 Sedgway tour, could you walk through the International Gateway to FW to get to it by 8:15am?

The International Gateway opens the same time as the main entrance of Epcot. This would be the opening time for Future World for that day. If the park opens at 9am that day I don't know if you can enter for your 8:15am Segway tour. I would check with Disney to be sure. I would imagine that they would have someone there to let people in for the early character breakfast and the Segway tour but I am not certain.

wdwgoofeeee is correct. They will have someone at the IG who can check your name against a list of authorized early entry names.
