International Dinner and IllumiNations Dessert Reception

Can someone tell me more about this? Where (and what time) is the meal, what is the entertainment, and is it worth it?

Are you talking about New Year's Eve??

Otherwise all illuminations dessert parties I'm aware of are private parties that people plan and pay disney to set up.

No, I'm talking about the "grand gatherings" for 8 or more people. We will be there in Feb and got a postcard and offer for this (and several other "special" gatherings), but for the price, it would have to be at a pretty place. I believe it was $59 plus tax and tip each. Meal, entertainment and dessert while watching in a roped off area. I also wanted to know on another thread, if they offer this to non grand gatherings (would be less expensive if we go on our next trip, with just 3 of us)..apparently not.

Disney does special Illuminations receptions on water-level patios on either side of the International Gateway bridge. These are usually private, catered events, so my guess is that doing this thru Grand Gatherings is probably the only way it is available. It is a very pretty location and you really have "front row" seating for Illum. We have done several Illum cruises and while the view is terrific from the pontoon boats, it would be 100 times better from the patio locations. Price is a little steep, I guess I'd wonder what they were serving, but if I could afford it, I'd do it.

We are going as a Grand Gathering to this Event on December 3rd, I will be happy to report back on how it was in a couple of weeks!
