Hi!

Thanks alot for posting the photos! From reading the boards I know there have been inquiries in the past regarding photos of the interiors of the cottages; I'm sure this will help many people.

BTW, how did you like Tropical Palms?

We stayed there for New Year's Eve and a few days after. We had fun at Old Town and of course Disney World. It was our first time back since 1998.

My husband and sons stayed there for one night. I first saw it on Orlando.com. Then I read many mixed reviews. This was a last minute deal. I think I booked it on the 16th of March. I booked through their web site and received a discounted rate. My husband says he would probably not stay there again. He said the decks were too exposed for his liking. He also felt it was not that well maintained. My 14yr old says it was not bad. I hope this helps fellow disers in making decisions on where to stay.

I am so glad you shared!!! When we visited we were not happy. Prior to the New year's eve trip we stayed in 1996 and 1998-both times we were really pleased.

This time we were just depressed-the cottages seemed really run down and need to be updated. We stayed in a two bedroom-the rooms were just so small and yucky. I agree with your husband that the patios (and the cabins) are really close together.

Toobad-it used to be an ok place. Thanks again for posting the photos!

We stayed in one of the cabins last January for a night and it definitely could have used some updating - something as simple as replacing all the blinds would be nice. Probably half the blinds in our cabin were bent, broken, etc which doesn't give you a lot of privacy!! The pictures on their website make them look adorable and they could be if only they would do some maintenance.

We've stayed there twice, 2002 & 2003 and thought the cabins were wonderful. Yes, the bedrooms are small, but then, we were only really sleeping in them! The bedroom closets had plenty of room to put away our clothes and we put our suitcases in the loft to get them out of the way. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook/eat our meals (which we did quite a few days to save $!). The kids loved playing on the deck with their cars/trucks & bubbles and I didn't have to worry about their "feet noise" for people below us like in a hotel. Yes, the cabins are close together, but we found that we didn't hear our neighbors at all and besides, in a hotel room, you don't even have a deck for the kids to play on so we much preferred the cabin! Neither of our cabins were in any disrepair so maybe we just lucked out, but we would stay there in a minute!

I am so very glad to hear you and your family had a wonderful time and the cabins were a perfect fit for you.

I agree that having a kitchen is awesome and can help cut down on food expenses. I also share your concern about kids making noise in a hotel; I have a six year old who can certainly make his share of noise!

Unfortunately for us we spent a great deal of time at the resort and in the cottage and found the bedroooms too cramped; in addition, we had really loud neighbors who spent a good amount of time on their porch-another bummer for us because we wanted just a little peace and quiet and to take advantage of the extra space.

I am glad your experience was great and hope you continue to have good experiences at Tropical Palms and happy future vacations!!!
