I posted this over on the Dining Board, but thought it might be pertinent here. I was told a couple of weeks ago that the restaurant Sanaa (over at the new Kidani Village DVC) would open up ADRs for the general public today (Feb 23rd). I called this morning at 6:00am CT, only to find that there was some computer glitch, and even though it was showing up in their system, they still couldn't book it. Anyway, after spending about two hours on the phone, they took my number and said a supervisor would call me within the next couple of days. I posted the question on the Dining Board, asking what was going on with Sanaa. I just checked and someone else said they were not able to get it either, but someone else said they did. So I just called back and got my ADR for May 12th.
What was strange about it though, is the very nice CM said the system would not allow him to book a table for a party of one, so he was going to have to put me down as a party of two. Excuse me, I have never sat at a table for one, WDW restaurants have always seated me at a table for two (or even sometimes tables for four).
For the CM to say that the computer was not allowing him to make the ADR for one diner seems very unfair. When I made all my other ADRs a few weeks ago, I had no trouble asking for tables for a party of one. I know when I get there I will be sitting at tables for two, like I always have. Is this part of their new ADR system? If so, it seems like they're going to start discriminating against solo diners.
If a table for two is available, why shouldn't a solo diner be allowed to have it. No restaurant ever has a table for one, (that I know of, at least).
