Here's something for us to ponder over the next few weeks...

There's is some speculation that on or about October 4th, Joe Biden will drop out of the race citing "health" reasons and Hillary Clinton will jump in as candidate for VP. Supposedly, this is already in motion by the DNC.

It's getting harder every day to know what to believe in this election, but this one is almost believable. If there's any truth to this (and I'm not saying there is), it could be an intersting change in strategy for Obama.

I think the Democrats were blind-sided when McCain picked Sarah Palin as his running mate. Even with all the Palin bashing since, there is still a considerable shift in the female vote that Obama can't afford to lose. I only read it once, but Obama has supposedly said to someone that he should have chosen Clinton instead of Biden. Besides, I think Clinton wants back in the White House too much to give up so easily.

I was wondering if anyone else has heard this. In any event, we don't have to wait very long to see if this actually plays out.

It doesn't matter what Obama does. He is not going to win the presidency. America is not ready for him.

I haven't, but if it does happen it will be very interesting.

Heard this on Talk radio, and there even been threads about it here on the Dis.

Dont think any of this will happen.

For this to be plausible, Biden would have to also pull his name from concideration for the Senators Job that he is also currently running for. Otherwise it will just play at as a desperate last grab for the ring from a failing campain.

So is Biden that willing to take one for the team, I don't think so personally.

I havent heard this. Bill Clinton was on The View today and he stated numerous times that Hillary did not want to be VP.

This was going around by email last week, Snopes couldnt confirm or deny it.

I just can't believe there's any way Hilary would ever agree to that plan. It totaaly opposes everything that is in her best interests.
1) She'll likely be Senate Majority leader, loads of power
2) Obama would likely shuffle her off for photo ops and press tours and would never collaberate with her
3) If Obama loses without her, she'll have a great shot in '12. If he loses with Hilary on the ticket, she's got much worse odds.

I think this would be difficult for the Obama campaign to do. With so much publicity about this plan already out there, any action would look like what it is. While Clinton has many supporters, I don't think that using her this way will endear voters to Obama. I think an action like this could hurt him and his campaign.

Was going to mention that as well. He said she'd do it if asked because she felt it was her duty... but she feels she has more power to make changes as senator of NY as opposed to VP.... ?

Besides...how in the world does a rumor like this get started? :confused3 It's the DIS isn't it??? :lmao:

Do you want to hold your breath on that? I sure wouldn't (for the record I'm not "for" Obama). I think we all might be surprised.

I thought it was Palin would drop out in favor of Lieberman?

I have such a hard time keeping the rumors straight!

I wasn't sure what to make of it, myself. I'm at a point where nothing would surprise me and thought I'd see what all of you thought.

I just checked my calendar for November 5th and I have nothing scheduled. I'm hoping it will be a rainy day and I'll just lay on the couch in my den and listen to all my soothing Karen Carpenter CDs. No radio or TV. The morning paper will tell me who won and I'll let it go at that.

I don't beleive it, esp the rumor of "around the fourth"

If they wanted to do it they would have done done it weeks ago. I personally think making such a big change just a month before the election would be insane (and I'm a big Hillary supporter)

Whatever buyer's remorse BO (and JmcC) are feeling now, I think it's too late to change.

They'll just have to accept the consequences of their choices.
