Interesting News Article: Is Rainforest Cafe or T-Rex better for kids?

The only thing I can say is that the last I knew, Rainforest in DTD does not accept ADR's and TRex does...so with little ones you might want an ADR so you don't have to wait in line for a long time. Rainforest in DTD might have changed their policy however.

Actually the Rainforest Cafe in DTD does now take ADR's.

Both would be about the same, maybe T-Rex a bit better. Now the food, that's another topic altogether.

That depends on how young your kids are and if they are boys or girls. We have been to both and our 7yo son loved them both, T-Rex more so as he is into dinos, while either place scares the heck out of my 4yo daughter, T-Rex more so as she is terrified of dinos (we found out while eating).

Have a 7 year old DS who would like to go to T-Rex this next trip. I know that some folks don't like either Rainforest or T-Rex but we have always liked Rainforest just fine. It is usually where we eat on our first night. My son has asked to do T-Rex this year and I would love to see some food pix if anyone has them. The menu seems smaller than Rainforest and seeing some food pix may help him decide if that is where he really wants to eat.

We've done both with a 2 yo and a 5 yo, and while they enjoyed both, T-Rex was a definite winner and is on the must do list for this year.

Trex also has the "dig site" --kids get a little brush to dig in the sand for dino bones. Also, the Build a Bear enterprise has Build-A - Dino there.
Kids love these features.
We tried the Trex last March and we loved it. I got the lasagna which was really quite tasty.
I also like that Trex is different --Other Rainforest Cafes we can visit on other travels.

T-Rex would get my vote just because it's newer and shinier and has more eye-popping bright colors that little kids (and some adults) love.

Of course, if your children are into dinosaurs they will be in hog heaven.

But. I'm sure it's just luck of the draw but we have had much better waiters at RC. Ron, who I think is still there is a delight. One of the best cm's I've ever seen. Still, RC is looking a little rundown these days (didn't it always ?) and I've seen more children there crying out of boredom than fear.

Can you us the DDP @ these places? We were looking @ T-Rex's but heard they do not accept the dining plan. True?

Be prepared for a long wait for food at both. Our last trip we ate at both and the Rain Forest Cafe was better but we still waited too long before ordering and getting drinks and then getting the food.

IMHO, Both T-Rex and RFC are equal and very similar, however I'd have to say T-Rex is a bit louder and scarier. Having eaten at TRex, our experience was that the food was bad. DS's ribs were filled with shredded bones, DD's salad had a 'funny flavor' and made her sick. Meinwhile, the food at RFC, after eating there more than 5 times has never been bad.

OP, you asked which was better for kids: The AK RFC is the best of the three however, but it sounds like you want to be in DTD, for that I vote you visit the shops of both and hit Mc Ds for food that will please your little one.

Thanks CR Resort Fan 4 Life....I didn't think they accepted the dining plan! Guess we are not going to make it there!
