I heard some interesting news from an entertainment cm durin my disney world trip last week
I was told that Hans and kristoff will be making an appearance at the coronation of Anna and Elsa and will stay on as meet and greet characters.
I also hear that Elsa will disappear after the coronation only coming out for special circumstance. Anna would continu to meet in a new location in her coronation dress.
Thoughts to this?

Meeting Elsa is the only thing half the little girls at Walt Disney World care about right now. She may be the most popular Disney character by far for many years to come. Locking her away in a box would be extremely foolhardy. For that reason alone I tend to believe this rumor.

x2!

There's very little chance they will get rid of Elsa. Her merchandise alone has been sold out everywhere. Only things that feature both Anna and Elsa on it are in stock. But solo? Man that stuff is damn near hard to find. Disney "wanted" Anna to be the one everyone wanted to see, but Elsa is the surprise star and fan of nearly every little girl.

I think I read somewhere that prior to the release of the move, Disney assumed Anna would be the "star" of the film and the more popular character - after all, she was really the 'hero', sacrificing herself for Elsa. Much more of the merchandise was initially focused on Anna rather than Elsa. However, for whatever reason, the girls (including this poster's 8yr-old DD) have just gone absolutely crazy for Elsa. You're right, good luck finding anything out there with just Elsa on it...and the stuff with both are in scarce supply, if at all.

It would make absoutely zero sense for them to remove Elsa from the meet and greet. Unfortunately though, the fact that it doesn't make sense at all and would be an incredibly dumb thing to do, doesn't make it any less likely to happen. Although, I'd like to think anything that would help keep the merchandise train rolling (to quote the great Mel Brooks, is "where the real money is made"!), they would want to keep around. And keeping Elsa in the spotlight, seemingly would only help sell more merchandise.

My 10 year loves Anna. But my 6 year old loves Elsa. It may be she likes the power she has. But I really think its the song. She sings let it go all day.
She already said she wants to be Elsa for Halloween. But wants to be like Elsa when she builds ice castle.
So they better keep her around we don't go til April 2015.

I learned last night that the niece of a friend/colleague is one of (I assume there are many) the Elsas in Disney World.

I am hoping this mess is worked out by the time we go in November because DD4 loves Frozen, but if not, I may need to call in some favors!!!

Also. I can confirm the lack of Elsa merchandise. DD received some Frozen things for her birthday, but it's all Anna. Nothing Elsa except a joint picture on a backpack.

I fear the same boardroom that thinks they can use rubber arm bands to herd guests away from Toy Story Midway Mania to The Great Movie Ride thinks they can get kids to like Anna more than Elsa by taking Elsa out of the parks and using her for "special circumstances".

Weird, I just returned from our local Target and just for fun, looked in the toy section at the Disney merchandise. They had about 8 Elsa dresses and no Anna dresses (except one including a doll dressed like Anna). Sparkly blue frilliness everywhere and no sensible Norwegian ethnic influence at all. Must have been a new delivery. They appear to have new merchandise for Rapunzel, Sophia and Doc McStuffins too.

I have absolutely no use for any of this stuff since my youngest DD is 26. Check today at your local Target. It appeared as if the stuff was just put onto the shelves.

Thanks!! will look.

All that would do would be to cause roiling crowds and 9 hour waits anytime Elsa does appear anywhere.

FWIW, I know one of one of the girls who's, um, friends with Elsa. All the talks the girls who are friends with Elsa and Anna have gotten how to expand their roles, not pull one, the other, or both, from anywhere. In the very, very, very, very rare happenstance that Elsa wasn't out with Anna, people were really, really upset. All the girls hear is if they want/can/are able to do more.

They are acutely aware of how popular in they are and she says that Disney is quite keen on doing what they can to keep the friends of the girls on staff as they are still short friends for them (specifically Elsa), and may still be for another month or so. They are having an issue not only casting friends of Elsa, but retaining them as well.

I am sorry but I have no idea what you are trying to say. Why does Elsa need friends?

Oh Dear, a very close friend of a character knows them intimately, right down to what they say, their quirks and their autograph...hope you are getting my drift

Yes mamabear...the princesses are real...cast members are just best friends with those princesses...as only Elsa is Elsa...

Yes. No cast members play a princess, or any character because they're the real deal.

But sometimes when you ask people what they do at Disney, they'll let you know that they're friends with a character.

So my friend, she's a friend of Elsa's.

It sounds like they are having more trouble casting friends of Elsa than Anna. I wonder why that would be?

I wonder if there is any talk of a character meal or two (or ten)?

They're having a hard time casting and retaining friends of Elsa. Couldn't say why, though. Even if you look at pictures of Elsa's friends, promotional and those by guests, you see the same one or two friends of Anna, but lots of different friends of Elsa.

Fun fact... The Elsa in the parade was a near last-minute choice and her friend in the parade is, as of right now, a re-appropriated friend of somebody else and not the permanent friend. They are really, really struggling to find her friends. Elsa is one of the few princesses that occasionally have friends of other princesses play her, but none of Elsa's regular friends are friends of anybody else (that was as of Jan, anyway).

I wonder if there is any talk of a character meal or two (or ten)?

That I can answer as a 100% no. My friend of Elsa asked if they would do a character meal, she said that there were talks, no immediate plans. The main reason is logistical. They have nowhere to put them and Elsa cannot navigate between tables with her outfit and there are "no plans" for her to make appearances in her existing coronation gown (it has been made, but she's not meeting in it). The place she's at would have to be appropriately themed and preferred as a more high-dining experience as opposed to general character buffet, with an area for Elsa to stand in the front as she can't circulate and as long as they're meeting in Norway, they can't have them in the Norway eatery. Cinderella's has no place to set up for Elsa to receive people, and it wouldn't work because it's not her meal anyway, and by creating a breakfast they limit who can access her when they need to widen her availability, not limit it. They want her in more freely available in-park locations as a priority. Neither HS or AK have anything in the way of a sit-down that could accommodate them.
