Interesting discovery about Alamo site

I was on the Alamo site this morning looking at the rates for Sept/Oct. I have a ressie with them now for last week in Sept first week in Oct. Any how when I put in my pick up time I put in a different time of day by 1/2 an hour and the base rate jumped by almost $40.00.
I put the original time in and it went back down, changed the time by 1 hour and it changed the rate by $30.00 I tried different combo's to see the rate change.

Now I am not sure but I believe they give you like a 10 hour pick up window to honor your reservation rate because you can never be sure what time your plane will arrive.
So I am just wondering why the rate difference between short time differences?

Has anybody else noticed this?

It would depend on what day/time the pickup and dropoff actually were.

For instance, Thursday noon is the key time for weekend rates; you don't get them for a pickup before noon on Thursday. If your plane lands at 10 am it's best to put in noon anyway; by the time you actually drive the car out of the rental lot gate it will probably be noon, and IME they don't quibble over that kind of timing.

Weekly rates usually have the same kind of catch, but the day/time that it comes into play will differ.

Not to argue the point but the different price happened when I put int he Pick up time as 11 AM instead of 10:30 am, then I put in 1 hour earlier and it changed by $30.00 The whole thing just does not make any sense to me but hey that seems to be a natural state for me.
