That is correct. If you are just changing cabins/categories you are locked into the tier you are booked on AS LONG AS YOUR RESERVATION REMAINS ACTIVE AND DOES NOT CANCEL. If you don't make the deposit and the reservation cancels then you have to book a new reservation in which case the pricing changes to the current booking tier.

I did book the Cat 5 and DCL told me they waitlisted the Cat 6. Since the booking, I have seen the cat 6 come available on their website. Should I have gotten a call from DCL asking me if I wanted the cat 6? I didn't need a deposit on that reservation -- they transfered it from an on board reservation.

That is correct.

DCL should contact you, however with the crazy way these cruises have been booking I would say it would be in your best interest to check back with DCL on the cat 6. I think what is happening is that as soon as they are getting released back into inventory they are being snatched up.

I would suggest calling Tuesday morning, first thing when some of the cabins open back up.
