I have 4 nights reservation 12/25-12/29 at VWL and called to see if we could add a night. Nothing was available so i asked to check HHI for 2 nights on our way home to boston..got it and CM was very good and efficient, but she just added these to my reservation from VWL..no new #. We have often done a day before or after at HHI and always gotten a different reservation# Is this new? I checked the website and it twas here with point deductions and when I asked CM she said that only needed to ammend the reservation..Should I be concerned?

The single reservation number is part of the new reservation system that was implemented last fall.

I don't think you should be concerned because it appears DVC is joining confirmation numbers whenever possible. We have 2 rooms at BWV in September, each with a different family, different names...SAME confirmation number. The hard copy confirmation refers to the guests as 1,2,3,4,5 with 1 & 2 in one room and guests 3,4 and 5 in another. Wierd and wacky.

We had a split stay at BLT and BCV last month, and they had the same reservation number.

We had the dining plan, and all the credits were grouped together. We were able to carry over the unused credits when we moved from one resort to the other, and they didn't expire at midnight like they used to do. Our KTTW charges were also charged at the end of our stay and not when we moved.

Same here, we went from a studio to a 2 bedroom at BCV last month, and had one reservation number. Coming up, I have a 2 bedroom and a studio at AKV for the same time period in September both with the same number. Even when we go from BCV to SSR in October with different people, only DH and I are the same, we have the same reservation number. It did work in June, so I'm guessing that's the way it's done now.

Several months ago Disney updated their software and implemented a "travel plan number". All reservations for a given vacation will be under the master travel plan and they will all have the same number. DVC converted to the same system a couple of months later.

We just had the same experience with multiple rooms at BWV and one res. number. Just be aware that when they added a credit card to one room it was applied to all rooms and it took many trips to the front desk to rectify and even then our solution was that the other rooms simply used their credit card rather that KTTW.

Oh--we are doing a 1 night stay at VWL on the end of our BCV reservation. We weren't planning on using the dining plan for that one night as we have HDDR reservations. So we are still going to get dining plan credits for that night as well since we'll have the dining plan through the first part? Crud! Wasn't planning on that. Thought it would be separate.

Just call them back and make sure they segment that day off from the others. Then the dining plan does not need to be on that segment.

Should be no problem. I had a reservation that was just assigned one reservation number with no problems.

You will only have credits if you purchased the dining plan for that one night of segments.

What it sounds like from the one person, they had the dining plan for every night of there stay and therefore, the credits were good for the entire time. Typically, with a split stay at a different resorts, the plans were treated as separate.

If you only bought the dining plan for the BCV nights, they will expire at midnight the night you check out.

If you bought it for both the BCV stay and the VWL stay, then yes, there is a chance that everything will go until the end. However, I have read others who did not have that happen so my guess is that things are not always the same.

This is good information to know, as we will possibly be splitting stay on our first DVC Trip as owners next year, i was worried about using all credits and things as we budget more for signature dining and things like that.
THANKS

Thanks for all the posts..I guess I won't worry. Didn't realize the update in the fall linked the vacation into the master plan. I may not have questioned it if it was another wdw dvc, just was weird to have one reservation # for VWL and HHI.
