Nope, only posted a article I thought might be worth others seeing. As for the bolded, there are about 18 different Bin Laden threads going on so I think i'm doing pretty well. at this point i feel like the topic should be done with. Not everyone agrees but if you state that, you are persecuted. I don't like the tone of many post. War is disgusting and our troops as well as his military have all done horrific things. It's the way of war. It's just sad on all points. I'm done talking about it though.

Yes, but you posted the article simply to support the argument you made in the first thread, which was closed down. As was pointed out by several people who posted in that second thread, it was a pretty clear violation of the rules.

And FTR, I'm not a fan of the street celebrations myself and wouldn't choose to commemorate this historic event that way. I'm glad he was located and I think his death was unpreventable. I hope the families of his victims feel some closure at the news, but I worry for our service men and women and the other innocent lives at risk from retaliations. I am in awe of the team that carried out the operation, proud of my country and happy that justice was done, but it doesn't make me want to have a party. STILL, I can understand that different people have different reactions to such big news and I don't believe that my way is the only way to react. Nor do I feel the need to belittle people who responded differently than I did.

It's your repeated outrageous comments on the subject that bother me. and I can't help but feel that you're purposefully baiting people.

No one wants war including the Navy seals that went in to grab him. But he started the modern war on terrorism, the US is just finishing it like we typically do.

He is dead, gone or whatever euphemism you want to use. We all get that you are disgusted with the celebration/dancing in the streets. You stated your opinion on one thread it was closed and you still didn't move on and forget about it.

He was one of the most hated terrorists in this country. The military has been hunting him done like a dog long before September 11th. He was shot dead by an elite military organization like the dog that he was.

So my suggestion is to step away from the keyboard and stay away from the threads.

I don't know. I've already received infractions/points for stating my opinion so I'm trying to stay mum about this but IMHO it's no more an act of cowardliness as it is to shoot the woman being used as a shield. I'm not saying she was shot just expressing my view. I just find all of it gross.

The news is reporting that they are backing off the wife/shield story, saying instead that the woman who was killed was the wife of one of the couriers who got caught in crossfire. Bin Laden's wife was shot in the leg but was left alive in the compound.

The woman was an associate of his, and a follower. She deserves to be shot just as much as he did.

This is exactly what I have thought with nearly ALL of that PP's posts. I don't have a problem with people with differing opinions, but she posts some pretty outrageous ideas, SO, I can only think that it is a baiting tactic.

ETA: I don't particularly care who the woman was, any man who would use ANY woman as a human shield (or anyone for that matter), is a COWARD, no matter how you try to spin it. I can't think of a SINGLE man in my life who would not place themselves in front of a bullet for myself or DD, let alone use one of us as a human shield. And, I certainly can't imagine my DH "letting" me take a bullet for him, although of course I would.

I'm also thinking that if they are married she was willing to be his shield. I know I would take a bullet for my husband and I'm sure many other wives would as well. This report is not surprising and it's all about the spin.

I don't know about YOUR husband, but that is not a choice I would ever have to make. HE would be protecting ME because HE is a real MAN--not a cowardice SOB.

He was given the option to surrender, if he actually gave a rat's *** about his wife, he would have surrendered to keep her safe. But, no again too much of a coward to do so.

I would venture to guess that he thought as Americans they would not shoot with a woman in danger. Oh, well, OBL--guess again.
