Just read this on another thread:

I don't remember where I read it, but I read that tickets bought together are interchangeable between the original users.[/I]

Is this true? If my husband and I were to purchase 10 day nonexpiring passes for our Dec. trip for our family of four, knowing we would have a couple days left on each ticket, would we be allowed to use the remainders on our childrens' (adult age tickets) tickets (in addition to our own tickets) for ourselves on a future trip without the kids? So, a couple of extra days per ticket for four people would equal four days in the parks for my husband and me on a future trip. Anyone?? :confused3

When you first use the tickets, they will take a finger scan and link it to that ticket. Then, it will have to be used by the same person each time after.

You would not be "allowed" to use your kids' tickets, because WDW tickets are not transferrable. According to the terms you agree to when you buy a ticket, your ticket is your ticket, and cannot be used by anybody else, ever.

The way that WDW enforces this policy today is by the use of the biometric finger scanners that are on each turnstile at each park. Your biometric profile (measurement of the distances between your first two fingers) is stored in the WDW computer system and associated with the serial number of your ticket. Thus, whenever your ticket goes through the machine, you put your fingers into the scanner, and the computer compares the reading to the readings it has taken before to make sure that the same person is using the ticket each time.

Tickets that are bought together and used the first time together are linked in the WDW computer system, so that if your family gets their tickets mixed up, they will still work. This is a convenience thing designed to speed up the lines; after all, fumbling to get every person's ticket matched up to the right person for a family of 4 or 6 or 8 can cause a tremendous backup!

Trying to use your kids' tickets on a subsequent trip may or may not work. The biometric stuff has only been in place since January 2, 2005, and the computer may or may not be on the lookout for funny ticket usage patterns that indicate someone using other people's tickets.

But getting away with it is a simple matter; use the kids tickets for the first two days, and if anybody asks you, just tell them you brought the wrong two tickets with you on the trip and left yours at home.

The absolute worst that could happen is that you might not be allowed to use your kids' tickets, which would leave you two days short.

Tammy is right. After the ticket has been used, and you have had your fingers scanned, no one else can use that ticket.

Sounds like wishful thinking on the part of that original poster. :teeth: As others have pointed out, it isn't the case.
