So IDK where to put this so I put it here. I just got back from a 2 week land/sea vacation. I started out Monday 9/26 at POFQ and was there during the hurricane. My cruise got cancelled and I was scrambling to reschedule and get accommodations but everyone at Disney that I talked to, either in person or on the phone, were great and everything worked out amazing for me. The staff at POFQ were doing everything that they could to keep everyone entertained, safe, and fed. On that Thursday, when we were all waiting for Ian to hit, the resort(like all of them) were selling meal packs and telling everyone to make sure that we all had enough food for at least 24 hours in case the worst happens. Well luckily, it blew overnight and we were all able to come out of our rooms the next morning. So to my reason for the post...

On Friday morning, they were still assessing the damage and the food court did not open for breakfast. They also had a tree that was uprooted and leaning on the back of the main building, in a staff area. So they had to assess those damages also. I was in line for guest services when this middle aged couple came up and the man was irate and complaining to his wife that he couldn't believe that they were not open for breakfast and how they had no food. They were in line to yell at the cast members. I turned around and said that that is why they sold those meal packs, for us to have until they could open back up. To be clear, they were also serving food at the food court almost the whole day before so we could eat that food and have the meal packs for when they were actually needed. Well the man went on to say how they told him that it was for 24 hours and that they ate it yesterday. I told him that they meant 24 hours from when the storm hit and they could not serve anything. And that the rest of us understood that. Plus that we all knew that there was the hurricane coming and any reasonable person put in a grocery order and stocked up. I just couldn't stand by and let this jerk think that he was somehow justified in being a moron and yelling at the cast members because he ate his emergency food before the emergency. How is it that there are people like this with so little common sense? Thanks for listening.

I am editing this to say that they opened for lunch about an hour after this interaction. So he was "out of food" for a couple of hours in the morning only. Hardly starving to death.
