Interacting with princesses as an adult

Okay, so I bit the bullet and booked CRT for breakfast. You only live once, right?
I'm very excited, but I'm also a little apprehensive about how best to interact with the princesses as they make the rounds. We're all adults (me and my folks), and I have absolutely no problem chatting with the princesses and posing for pictures with them. Do they expect to spend much time at a table of adults? I'd be fine with a quick hello and maybe a pic with one or two.

With the exception of Akershus (where they seemed a bit rushed), the Princesses always spent a good amount of time with us (two adults, no children). Granted, I did make it super obvious that I was into the interaction, was interested in actually talking to them, and kept conversation starters with me (books, a glass slipper, etc.). At CRT, Ariel actually came back to our table while Aurora was visiting with us to join our conversation.

If all you want is a greeting and picture or autograph, they'll certainly oblige you. If you want more interaction, the fact that you're an adult with no children in your party shouldn't be a problem. Just make it obvious that you're excited to see them or want to talk to them if you want more than a greeting and picture. They're good at picking up on cues.

When I did CRT solo, I brought books with their story to have autographed. It was a fun interaction because I'd ask them what their favorite part of their story was and we'd talk about it.

Even without the books, that is a question you could ask to have more interaction with them.

Yes, this! I brought my Disney Princess Encyclopedia with me and had the characters in it autograph their pages, which somehow seems a little more special than just an autograph book.

I will second GaSleepingBeautyFan's suggestion- bring a book or think up questions to ask them.

Cool! I was actually thinking about things I could ask them the other day! Haha! At first I thought it would be weird, but I watched a video of a CRT breakfast and Ariel responded to a simple "How are you doing?" from a mom with the cutest enthusiastic response about her "people legs" and how fun they are. That's when I realized how cute this could be!

The characters don't just cater to kids under a certain age. They respond to everyone. Best photo I have of my husband (who is a Grumpy so much our grandkids call him Grumpy Grandpa?) - back when there were no lines for character meets but not that long ago. Eeyore just had to have his handler ask some young women to leave for a photo op because they both had an adult beverage they wanted to include in the photo (not allowed). They left in a hurry and my husband said that Eeyore looked so sad and I suggested that since Eeyore is like my husband so much that he should give me his adult beverage and go up and give Eeyore a hug. After some prodding, that's what my husband did and I swear I saw a smile on Eeyore's face that was as big as my husband's.

Characters are for everyone.

Treat them as princesses. One thing to remember, and we have eaten at CRT several times, is that there are others watching them. They see fans of every age every day. Be a fan.

The princesses seem to love to talk to me when I manage to talk to them. I'm a pretty shy young adult, but I make a big effort to ask about them and their stories.

Both crt and Akerhus as adults were great and we had plenty of time with all the princesses they all took time to comment on my fiance ring and ask when and where and talk about there prince
