Alrighty I can either pay for my resort and tickets seperate or buy the vacation package. I'm leaning on buying them seperate but what I want to know is if I do go with the package should I get the insurance. I've read what it covers and i'm not sure if its worth the 90 bucks. let me here your opinions experts.

We decided to get the insurance for our vacation. 1. We're travelling with 2 kids. You never know when they'll get sick. 2. We're driving. I didn't want to chance our car breaking down or whatever. It just made sense for our situation to get it :cool1:

Hello! I also took a look at the insurance as we have the package. I think the insurance is on an individual basis whether it's worth it. You have to weigh what you think may/may not happen and compare that to what you would be out. In our case, worst case scenario we would be out maybe $200 for the package. Of course, we would also have the change fees for the air tickets. When looking at what the ins. covered, I didn't think the extra $90 was worth it for us. We have been trying to get down to Disney for the past couple years and come heck or high water we're going! This is a huge reason I didn't think the ins. was worth it for us. If we were driving like the other poster, I think I would have seriously considered it.

Our situation is a little different. We got the insurance because the timeframe we will be there is during the end of hurricane season. toyotaae86lg, you may want to consider the insurance though. It looks like your going during the Christmas hooha. This may mean that you could get a cancelled trip due to snow at your airport or a layover airport.

Nevermind, Isee your from Panama City. Dont get insurance. Too close to the world to need it.

This is actually the first time I'm not getting insurance because I booked everything separately on my own. I'm still thinking about it but also wondered who I would call to get insurance from if I decided to do it. All my previous trips were packages and i obtained the insurance through my TA.
Any advice?

Not sure really. I believe WDW only offers insurance if you take their package. Your travel advisor should offer it though. Most do to some extent.

If you are buying travel insurance due to weather concerns check to make sure that this is covered. Some policies will not cover events considered to be acts of god.

WDW was very good this past year with hurricanes with allowing people to reschedule their trips.

CRO CM told me that it was. Otherwise I would have probably skipped it.
