Insurance?

I know the Visa Infinite only covers the primary cardholder for the first 15 days of a trip, can't speak for the other insurance mentioned.

No first hand experience using it...:confused3

I don't know other bank but CIBC Visa Infinite does cover spouse and dependents. CIBC Gold Visa (regular gold, not aerogold) cover 30 days travel medical insurance (also cover spouse and dependents). You don't need to use to card to pay the trips. Annual fee is $99.

I have CIBC Infinite Aerogold and my DH has the CIBC Infinite Dividend.
I also have RBC Avion Infinite...

I think the RBC one covers myself and my family...and should know for sure, but don`t! Both of the CIBC Infinites only cover the primary cardholder. So is it the CIBC regular Gold Visa that covers family members and not the Infinite... :confused3

Province Travel Medical Insurance is available only to the Primary Cardholder who must be age 64 or under, and if so, it is also available to his/her spouse, who must also be age 64 or under, and their dependent children for the first 15 days of the trip; this insurance does not cover expenses relating to any pre-existing condition if in the 90 days before your departure, that or a related condition has not been stable.

This is what I found from CIBC website. So it covers spouse and dependent as long as the primary cardholder is 64 or under. The spouse has to be 64 or under too. It applies to Aerogold Infinite and Gold, however, the travel medical insurance for Gold visa is first 31 days (not 30 days as I mentioned earlier)

Okay-I am confused?
I have the Aerogold-Infinite as mentioned...

I see this on the website..under the specs on the individual cards

Out-of-Province Travel Medical Insurance for the first 15 days of your trip, for primary cardholders age 64 and under

Where is the other info? I can't see it..

I see it! 'small print' :confused3

Wow, I am waaay overinsured when I travel..;) But that's ok!

Has anybody used President's Choice insurance? Their quote is less than RBC. Both were quoted for medical, trip interuption, cancellation, baggage and for two separate families.

For 1 adult for $1,000.
President Choice $63
RBC $82

For 1 adult and 2yr $1,300
President Choice $63
RBC $133

I'm wondering the same thing....

For us they quote $190 for a total of 4 -

2 people (0-59), 1 person (65 +) and one child under 12. The child under 12 is actually free but the person over 65 bumps it up a bit. This is based on cost per person being $700-$1100.

My best suggestion when comparing, is to either get referrals from friends, or to check the actual certificate of insurance for both companies. Sometimes the price difference has a reason, others it could just be the demographic you're in. I'll be upfront and say I work for RBC Insurance (and I actually applied for my job here after having fantastic customer service experiences with them).

I've had many customers call and buy insurance from me and say that we may be a couple dollars more (andsometimes less), but they purchased with XYZ company and when they had a claim, it was such a struggle to get the company to pay that they'd never do it again. If you purchase RBC, claims are handled through RBC directly and I've heard many customers raving over the experience.

If you have any insurance related questions, feel free to email me and I'll give you the best information I can.

PC Insurance uses TravelGuard Canada. They are also the company that Disney uses (TravelGuard US). We looked into it & they are almost the same price and coverage as CAA (Manulife).
