Insurance with pre-existing condition

Just thought I would let you know the result I had today.

DD has a heart murmur due to a small hole but has no symptoms - this will be corrected in a few years. Called M&S for a quote as we have always used them in the past - last year we had to pay an extra £20 to cover the condition for a short trip to DLRP.

The quote this year to USA was £105.39 plus an extra £162.10 !!!!!!

Called Tesco as someone else on here had said they were quite good. They quoted £130.28 including her condition (additional for this only around £28) !!!!!

Ok, so Tesco have slightly lower sums insured than M&S but perfectly adequate for our needs. Looks like Tesco will be getting our business from now on. Does anyone know if you get Clubcard points as well - forget to ask when I was on as so gobsmacked.

With tesco insurance your supposed to get clubcard points, but everytime ive bought it online i haven't but in store yes i do get my points

Got ours with 1stop travel for £102.DW has MS and this was the cheapest we could find (23days).Tesco wanted about £170.We used to use Sainsburys but everyone seemed expensive this year.

We went to a local broker who recommended 'Fortis' it cost £95 for the 14 night holiday. My 13 year old son had major heart surgery at birth (now fine with regular check ups and no medication) DH on medication for a pre existing condition, youngest son with asthma, I'm the only one with no probs. Other insurance companies I looked at wouldn't touch us!

DH has, recently, got cover through both Fortis and Age Concern

M&S wouldn't even give him a quote last year although they'd covered him 6 months previously - something to do with their having changed underwriters

we always use the AA, 2 of us with PEMC, for an annual family policy £108.
