Insurance/sickness question

So we are cruising late January next year. Just booked the trip recently and don't have insurance bought yet. This is prime flu season where I live. What do I need to look for in case someone gets the stomach bug or the flu? Typically I have seen coverage for serious conditions but not minor sickness.

I think it would depend on the insurance policy, but if a doctor says you cannot travel whether from flu or something else that should be covered under illness.

Neither of those would be pre existing conditions. Unless you had something pre existing that caused them to be worse than normal.
