I carry the insurance in our family--its my DD, DH and myself--
last aug DD gets married--since I didnt know how this works all I knew is that I couldnt have her on the insurance after she got married--
I checked at work and they said she is covered through the end of the month she got married--ok she got married 8-5 so she was covered until the last day of aug--
so I called the benefits # and did you ever have the feeling something was going to get screwed up--once you take vision ins you can only make changes every 2 years unless its "life changing event" such as marriage or divorce etc well the girl tells me that since the 2 yrs arent up yet I have to keep vision!!!! that made no sense I tell her about the life event she goes and checks ok I was right!!!
I still had the feeling something was going to be wrong so the next day I go to HR to find out she cancelled all 3 of us!!!!!!
ok I get that straighened out--then my next paycheck had the ins taken out for all 3 of us!!! that took 2 paychecks before that was fixed!!!
Then tonite DS calls --they just got a $500 from DDIL from her ob/gyn (Im going to be a first time grandma in May cant wait!!!!)
Last fall at work was his open enrollment so they changed to another plan with better coverage now that they need the family plan what the city did (hes a police officer) is they cancelled some employees ins that were changing coverage---the old ins ran until the end of the last year and starting Jan 1 the new ins took over but this bill was from Dec and yet they were still taking the preminims out of his check!!! so not only did they cancell him they kept charging him!!!!
sound sort of fishy to me!!!!!!
