Insurance for rental points...

I thought I posted this question yesterday but can't seem to find my post!

Does anyone know what company offers travel insurance for rented DVC points? I remember reading a post about that before but can't seem to find it. The Disney travel insurance does not cover rented points.

I'm not sure if there is a company that insurers rented points. A member can insure their own points trip. Maybe someone found such a company but it would be an odd situation for an insurance company. The DVC owner always retains control of the points.

I believe the purple insurance slip that is mailed with the confirmation slip should work for rented points, too. Ask the person who is renting you points to enclose the purple insurance slip when they send the confirmation slip on to you.

I think it would be easier for someone renting points to buy conventional travel insurance because there is a dollar amount attached to their reservation. With points, it's hard for an owner to establish their worth when buying insurance, when buying other than DVC's insurance. DVC only uses $5 per point, which I don't think is enough.
