If you have gotten insurance on your weddings rings can you tell me how much it is and where to get it..
Thanks
Renee

We have insurance on my e-ring. The best place to start is with your home owner's or renter's insurance company. We did not put it as a "rider" on our policy but got a separate independent policy for the ring. I'm glad we did get a separate policy because our home owner's company dropped us this year (it's Florida, everyone gets dropped eventually) but we were able to keep the ring insurance with them since it was an independent policy. The new home owner's insurance company will not insure individual jewelry pieces so we would have been SOL. I have Nationwide for the ring. Any other company I compared the same coverage to cost at least double what we pay!

The cost will depend on:
- The value of your ring (you have to have a written appraisal)
- How much the deductible is
- If you'll pay in full or installments (most insurance companies charge a small percentage fee if you make monthly payments)

my ring is insured with my homeowner's company also. All my jewerly is included in a rider coverd under my policy. I think the rider is for $15K, but i have to manually add each piece, with an insurance appraisal and pic. So far i haven't needed to use it, but I'm still glad I have it!! I think it costs me an additional $75 a year for my extra policy.

I have both my engagement and wedding ring insured through my homeowner's insurance as a separate rider. I had to fax the appraisal to my insurance company for proof of the rings' values.

Definitely get ring insurance.

Like the other girls, we have my e-ring insured as an additional rider on our home owners insurance. I think its about $100 a year or so. Totally worth it for the piece of mind it gives me.

I plan on insuring my rings as soon as we get back from the wedding (if DF hasn't already taken it upon himself).

A little story... before I was born, my mom was at home alone with my brother and they were in the backyard. While they played people broke into my mom's house and stole her e-ring. It was a doozy of a ring (a lot of money) and she had it insured as soon as they got engaged. So, it was covered and even though her heart was broken over it (family heirloom) at least she recieved compensation for another ring...

Hope this helps...

We also did this as a special insurance policy with the company that has my auto insurance, they also had my renters insurance until we bought the house in January.

Chubb is a great insurance agent, just google them. I know many women who are covered by them and their claims process went very smoothly.
