I know I have read it somewhere on the boards, but can't remember it in total, but those who need insulin in the parks, can they leave it somewhere and go back for it?

I thought it was first aid or guest relations?? But I can't remember which one.

Also what is needed if you do this?

Thanks for answering my question. Everyone have a wonderful trip!!

At First Aid they have refrigerators just for medical storage and a procedure in place to make sure that the right people get the right medications. Also, they will provide you a private area for doing the injections and have Sharps Containers available for used syringes or pen needles.

Just a quick side note. Not sure if you want to leave your insulin because of convenience or are just worried about it in the heat. If it is the latter, many people on this and other boards have had very good luck with carrying their insulin in a frio pack or other temperature controlling packs.

Just wanted to offer that up in case heading back to the First Aid station does not fit well into your plans.

Thanks, no the heat isn't what is bothering me, just don't want to carry it around all day.

Before we didn't need to worry as we could take care of things before we left the room, but now it is needed at dinner as well.
We have a couple days where we won't be going back to the room before dinner, so those days we needed to prepare for.

Thanks. :)

Honestly I would wait until I am seated at dinner to take my insulin. Reason is ADRs are not reservations and you may wait for some time to be seated. I am assuming youare taking short term insulin at dinner and if you take it at first aid you may become low before you get to eat. Just a consideration.

I agree.
On our last trip, we checked in about 15-20 minutes before our ADR, but were not seated until about 30 minutes after our ADR time. That’s kind of on the long end of possible waiting time, but is possible.

If you want to store the insulin at First Aid during the day, I would suggest going to pick it up before you check in for your ADR and then just keep it with you for the rest of the evening. That also means you won’t forget and leave it there when you leave the park at the end of the day.

Thank you for the concern. :) We are "veterans" of this horrible disease and know that risk, sorry I didn't go into detail of leaving it at first aid, going to get it (not taking it there), then heading to the restaurant.
We just didn't want to carry it all day while in the park. Taking it at the restaurant was the plan. :)

It is nice to know the disers look out for the small details!! Thanks for the concern!!!!! :cloud9:
