My DH is an insulin dependent diabetic and carries his equipemtn everywhere - his insulin, blood glucose tester, and his syringes. Will he have a problem at airport security because of the syringes? I do not want him to be without his kit. Should we get a letter from his doctor stating that he is indeed an insulin dependent diabetic and should carry his supplies with him at all times? I just don't want the security personnel confiscating his kit at the checkpoints and not having access to his supplies during a 3 hour flight. Beverly Lynn or anyone else who knows, can you please let me know??

I would call the airline and found out what you are to do. I'm sure they would confiscate the needles unless you've followed their guidleines. They are taking away pens and pencils at Newark.
