Hi I posted this on the pinned grocery thread but haven't received a response. If anyone can help I'd appreciate it.

We arrive at Saratoga Springs this coming Friday. I drug my feet and didn't get around to placing my grocery order with the delivery service we generally use. I'm now considering using Instacart. I've never used them even at home. My question is if I don't have alcohol in my order do I need to be at the resort to receive the groceries or will they drop them at bell services?

TIA!

I can't speak for Disney specific rules at the moment (in non-covid times Bell Services would accept deliveries), but I use Instacart all the time and they have an option to leave the order and a spot for specific delivery instructions. I use it for Costco and its very convenient, the shopper even texts to swap items that are out of stock.
At Disney, I would not see it being a problem to just note to leave it with Bell Services.

Thanks! That's kind of what I thought but I didn't want to not be at the resort when they arrive and have an issue.

It won't be an issue. We did it in December and had them leave it with Bell Services. Refrigerated/frozen items were stored appropriately. We had Bell Services bring the order to our room along with our luggage. Super easy, barely an inconvenience.

We used Instacart at Saratoga in January. It was our first time and they were great. They texted us in the app as they were shopping and you could see which items they had picked up already. It was delivered to bell services and they attached a photo of the order after they dropped it off. We were really, really pleased with their service. I believe there is a $5 or $6 service charge from the resort that they will charge to your room.

I've used Instacart several times at different resorts. All were dropped off at Bell Services and then delivered to our room when we arrived. I've never been charged for the delivery.

Guess you've just been lucky? The below is from WDW's website. This policy began in April 2019.

Getting Grocery Orders Delivered to Your Disney Resort Hotel Room
If you have grocery orders delivered to your Disney Resort hotel during your vacation, a $6 fee will be charged to your room account for each order brought to your room by Bell Services or Luggage Assistance. Alternatively, grocery delivery order pickup in the Resort Lobby from Bell Services or Luggage Assistance is available at no charge.

We used Instacart in 2018 and were required to meet them at Bell Services because there was alcohol in our order. We had two deliveries from them over our stay and were told the same thing both times. Now, I don't know what would have actually happened if we hadn't met them. Perhaps they would have just left it. But their official word was they wouldn't leave it with Bell Services and someone 21 or over had to come meet them.

Not sure when the last time you did it was but it hasn't been like that for a while. They charge for delivery to the room now, but it's still free if you pick the items up from Bell Services yourself. I was charged $5 at BC in Nov 2019.

Most recent visit was Dec of 2020. Instacart dropped off the order with Bell Services. We arrived about an hour later. I had Bell Services being the order up to the room. No charge was added to our folio for either event. I did tip generous. Same thing in 2019. No charge. Guess I've just been lucky.

Sounds like you've definitely been lucky...the policy did legitimately change

I checked out of CBR this past Sunday. I had an Instacart order delivered on Monday April 5. No alcohol. Instacart delivered around 10 am and we picked it up ourselves around 8 Pm. Very easy and no charge. I had a scooter so we loaded it up big time and my kids hauled the bags of lighter stuff!
