Oh, I wish I wasn't a yeller. I've hated that about myself all my life. It's werid, sometimes I'm in the middle of an argument and all the sudden I realize I am no longer speaking in normal tones, I don't even remember moving up from aggrivated to yelling. Dh is something of a yeller too though and I'm sure our poor dd hates it at times. I constantly work on it though so I am hoping to be a reformed yeller someday.

I don't yell but DH does. His family is all yellers so I know where he gets it while only my mother yelled a lot.

The weird thing is if I say something in anger to DH, he immediately asks me why I'm yelling at him. Actually, he yells the question and I've never raised my voice. No need to.

Hello, my name is wvjules and I'm a yeller. Somedays it seems all I do is yell. I try to control it but when I'm frustrated I can't contain it. I need to back off of it. Kendra is starting to pick it up too.

This thread made me think of the scene in Monsters, Inc. where Sully is trying to teach the new screamteam members how to scare the dummy in the room and Boo sees him roaring and is so afraid. I immediately thought that that was probably what DD sees when I'm yelling. Scarey thought, huh??? OK, so that part makes me cry...

I am, I am seeing it in Jordan too. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt I got it from my mother. She passed it on to 4 out of 5 of her children.

I don't like it but it just happens...but boy do those kids move! They know when they have pushed me to yelling they better scatter cause they have gone to far.

No, I am not a yeller. In fact I seem to have some sort of medical condition that makes it nearly impossible for me to get rattled. Last time I had my blood pressure checked, the nurse asked, "Are you alive?" DH is Italian, and yells a lot. He used to yell a lot more, but it must be hard to yell at someone who's calmly speaking to you. The only thing that can make me raise my voice is debating someone about what a bad "president" George W is.
