My middle name is Susan, which is my mom's name!

My mother's middle name was Jhoselyn [that's what she went by] and my dad is named Jose. They put it together and got Josely. I got give them an A for originality and creativity because I have never met another Josely.

My Mom says it was divine intervention. Up until the moment the nurse asked my Mom what my name was, I was Krystyna (Polish spelling). The nurse asked, and out popped Hope, and my Dad exclaimed, "What?!?" They had never even considered my first or my middle name, yep, my Mom changed that too.

My mom says she just always liked my name growing up and knew that when she had a baby girl, she would name her Kate. It also turned out to be a family name on my Dad's side but from what I understand, that Kate was a very very mean lady who nobody liked!

I too always get people believing that my name is short for something, but i'm just Kate. Kate Elizabeth, which I am quite fond of. I love my name.

I was a baby of the 70's--- my parents named me after the "Bionic Woman"... My sister was named after the Beach Boys song "Help Me Rhonda"..

My first name is pretty common, Elizabeth. What is unique is that I don't have a middle name. It was always a pain the first day of school because teachers would accuse me of lying. They usually put NMN for "no middle name" on my records and that is why when I received my high school diploma, my name was recorded as "Elizabeth NMN"

Assuming she was really a "Megan", my mom chose the Irish spelling of that name.

I have never been called "Meggie" in my life, however.

I was named Colleen by my childless aunt; she had also named my older sister Charlotte after her (the aunt's LOL!) terminally ill husband Charles. By the time sister #2 (daughter #3) arrived, my mom insisted on her own choice, Margo. My dad finally got his way with baby #4, also a girl, named her Holly.

I was supposed to be Emily Jeanette, after my aunt Jeanette, my mom's sister. Aunt 'Net had always wanted a girl, so my parents made her godmother and gave me her name as my middle name.

My 7 (much older) siblings thought Emily was too old fashioned for a modern girl of the 1980s, so they pooled together to find another modern name that went with Jeanette. I got that name instead. Then, in the hospital, the 2 nurses assigned to care for me and my mom were named my name and Jeanette! Complete coincidence, but Nurse Jeanette was so delighted because she'd never known another Jeanette in her life!

I like that my middle name is significant, so I kept it when I got married. I love my maiden name, too, so I just added DH's name to the end and have 4 names now!

My sister is Pamela Joy. Her daughter, Leslie Ann, is Ann for my mom. Leslie's daughter is Avery Joy, for my sister. I like it! My nephew's middle name is my husband's first name. My hubby once forgot that Benny's middle name was his and had to ask me what it was! We'll never let him live that one down!

If I ever have a daughter I'd like to name her Elisabeth Ann, for my mom Ann Elizabeth. I like the S spelling though.

I was "supposed" to be a boy to be named David but SURPRISE! My dad named me last minute in the hospital (they were so SURE I wasn't going to be a girl lol) and decided on Angelene Marie (pronounced Ann-Helene) which is a common name in Italy where he was from lol. In about seventh grade I started going by Angela which is the common American version of my name...

BTW I would have HATED being named David..such a boring name lol..(and is now my cousin's name which bothers my mother to no end hahaha)

OMG I was just fixing to post the exact same thing. I am 33 and my dad loved the Bionic Woman so they named me Jami. It's a weird spelling though.

I'm Catherine named after my grandmother Katherine. My mother changed the K to a C because she had this great idea that my older sister and I would be able to share initial jewelry She even gave me a middle name with the same initial. I can honestly tell you that my sister and I never shared jewelry or monogrammed sweaters or anything else
