Is there a food you won't eat based on the way it looks?
Nothing to do with flavor or how it "feels" ~ just purely based on the way the food looks.....

I admit, the KFC "double down" sandwich (wait....is it a sandwich if there is no bread? Does that make it a "meatwich"? a "chickenwich"?) anyway, the double down simply looks gross. Based on looks, I don't want to try it (let alone the calories/fat/sodium)

Whats yours?

Shrimp, lobster, clams, crabs... really, shellfish of any kind. Gross. It looks so... alive. :scared:

Indian food, it looks pre-digested

(not all, but alot of it)

MMMMM, thanks for the reminder. In just a short month and a half, I will be digging quahogs and eating them raw, right out of the bay. Nothing like raw clams, tobasco, and cold beer. All of my favorite foods you have listed there!:)

Actually someone posted a pic of their food at Voctoria and Albert just the other day. It looked like someone had spit on top of it, I almost threw up and I have a very strong stomach. Shoot I even eat escargo(sp). snails lol

There is--but I don't want to offend anyone (or have anyone rejoice in how something that I mention sounds so delish:lmao:).

But usually it is items that I know will upset my tummy b/c my tummy hurts just looking at the photo.

Then there is the "delicacies" of other countries that never occurred to me as being edible or a minimum "stew-able". Southern cooking in the US also has a few that...well...ewwwwwwwww.

Yea, I can't imagine wanting to eat something that looked like spit. BLECH!

No, nutrition is my first measuring stick. While I have stuff I wouldn't call healthy from time to time I wouldn't forgo something I either enjoyed or could tolerate if fit my nutritional parameters but looked terrible.

One of my favorite smoothies has a lot of kiwis and a green fruit and vegetable juice that makes it look like it came out of a baby, but it tastes good and is good for me so I drink it.

I am so confused, wasn't the point of this thread to discuss the exact opposite of what you just did?

For me, there are many cheeses who's appearance is enough to keep me away :scared:

I was asked the following question:

Is there a food you won't eat based on the way it looks?

And answered it in the negative then gave my reasoning. It doesn't ask to list only foods that you won't eat because of appearance. It asks if there are foods that fit that category and if there are list them.

Right, but the end of the post was what is yours, implying that the thread is to discuss foods you will not eat based on their appearances.

You do have a point, Sister from another mister. It's not what foods we'll tolerate because they're within our parameter, or what foods that look gross but we still eat them...what will you not even try because of the looks. I will not try beets, because they look slimy.
