In the past I have. Not like we'd all sit around talking and hanging out, but the polite conversation was always comfortable.
I've never had an issue with a boyfriend's parents.

I'm actually pretty close with Garrett's family.

My mom grew up being very close with Garrett's dad and his aunt. And my grandpa grew up and worked with his Pawpaw and Nana.

When we first started dating it was kinda weird for me, because I never went out with my boyfriend and their parents cause my boyfriends have always been older than me.

Garrett's my age. So when we stated dating he didn't have his license yet. We would have to go out with his parents. Which that wasn't bad, but they like to talk and I'm pretty shy around new people.

Now after over a year, I'm really close with his mom and dad. Me and his mom talk alot, but not that creepy; always texting and hanging out kinda thing.

I've had to ride hours with them alone for Garrett's away football and baseball games, so I've had some time to get comfortable with them.

Both of his parents like me and can tolerate me, but I really don't like his dad. He's not the greatest person to my boyfriend. I haven't experienced anything firsthand, though.

alright so i'll write what i wrote there pretty much, i get along with dereks parents, his dad is really quiet, and his mom def wears the pants in the house, she's really abrasive and forceful and that's something i'm not used to. she's definitely got a different style form my mom, and i'm MY opinion (obviously not the opinion over at the cb lol) she's a bit too overprotective of someone who is 20 years old. i mentioned that she won't let him stay overnight at my house (like not just for no reason, i mean if we go out to a bar and he can't drive home or something like that) which i find odd because i go visit him at his place in uni and that's allowed, but when we're supervised at my parents house it's not i just don't get it. and for our trip to WDW he had to really fight to be allowed to go, i just think at 20 you should be able to make those decisions for yourself, and she's always trying to tell him to get a haircut which totally irks me because i love his hair! haha

anyways, to answer the question, yes we get along, i generally enjoy spending time with his family but sometimes they are a bit much, they are VERRRY different from my family who are much more laid back and easy going, we are not rude to each other and she's never said anything rude to me (to my face at least....but that's another story )

i'm sure she resents me because i'm the reason her baby is growing up, and i sort of resent her for holding him back so much, but yes, we do get along.

(there's a lot i'm not including b/c this post is long enough already, but trust me when i say she's controlling lol)

Well, the boyfriend's whose parents I've met, I liked. I kinda liked my exe's family.. His mom was nice, I didn't not like his sister, but I didn't really ever talk to his dad.

My current boyfriend's (<333) family is pretty awesome. His mom is really nice, and his little brother's pretty sweet too (again I don't know his dad too well). His family seems a bit more laid back than my last bf's family.

I've only ever met 2 of my bf's families. The rest seemed pretty distant about it.

I can relate to this is so many different ways.

Garrett's mom definitely wears the pants. She is just too over protective. I know thats her baby, but he's sixteen. And she really treats him like he's 12 sometimes.

We've talked about how once we're moved out and in college how we'll probably stay with each other sometimes. He's always saying that his mom would flip if she ever found out that we stayed the night with each other. I'm like but...... you'll be 18, not living at home, and we'd be dating for over four years.

With the hair thing too, lol. I love his long curly hair, and his mom is always like "Garrett you have to go get that hair cut!!" I'm secretly screaming "WTH!!?? NO NO NO NO!!" lol.

And his family IS definitely different from mine. I get along with my parents really well. And he's pretty much getting yelled at everyday. He gets in trouble for the smallest thing.

It's like he tries to hard to make them proud and they always point out what he did wrong, instead of telling him good job. They think he brother is a complete angel... which he definitely is NOT! It just makes me so mad sometimes.

But we're def more laid back and easy going than they are.

I've gotten along great with most of my previous girlfriends parents.They'd have me over all the time and I probably talked to them more than my own parents.Now with my last girlfriend her parents hated me with a passion.So much so that they forbade her from talking to me and moved.

Yep, for the most part.
Ryan's mom is really relaxed. She doesn't get upset over alot which is nice because my mom definitely does. His dad though doesn't always like me. He thinks I'm too goody too shoes for his son (sounds really strange, huh?!) so we don't talk alot. Apparently he's a pretty quiet guy too, so I guess you have to give him time to adjust. I find that silly because I've been with Ryan for for 3 years or so (thats counting all the time we have been dating...doesn't include the time we were seperated)...

So yeah, his dad has more than enough time to get to know me. I will be spending half of christmas day over there.

Ugh, I wish his dad was better!!!
