I have a co-worker that has gone off the "tacky" deep end IMO.
Her son is a senior in high school and wants to go to Australia with a group of his friends for a "senior trip". Great, fine....it sounds like a lot of fun. So what is the catch you say?!!!!
Weeeelllll.....this boy and his Mom thinks it is a good idea to ask every person in creation for "donations" for this trip!
So far she has called every professional business in our area and asked for donations, she called all the local grocery stores and asked if they would donate food so she could have a "cook-out" and then charge per plate to collect money, and the very worst is......she was soliciting donations from our PATIENTS
(this was put to a stop).
I dunno....maybe I am just being cold but when did it become acceptable to "beg for donations" for a freakin SENIOR TRIP?!!!
I think the boy should get a job and work for his trip...or if his Mom is so opposed, maybe SHE should get a second job...sheesh. BTW- they have already raised over 3,000.
Anybody else think this is painfully tacky?
