In her thread of things said that just make your skin crawl, the all time worst for me is...

"Where are you at?" Auuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugghh! It makes my skin crawl. Do people around you talk this way, or is it something in this part of the country that drives me nuts? Whatever happened to the correct use of..."Where are you?" :earseek: :earseek:

Ugh - My DH says this all the time as well as Where is it at? Even my kids have started correcting him.

How about - Are you done it, yet? That one makes me crazy.

I have only heard it from people in New Orleans.....I havne't heard it being said around here yet but I'm sure its coming....We are last on everything! But native New Orleans/Cajuns etc. have always said "where you at" meaning "How are you."

That makes no sense whatsoever. :(

I hate it when people misuse the verb "to be". "Where you be?", "I be going to the mall." Just plain yuck.
