what color eyes do you consider hazel?

my eyes are green/blue/grey and often change color more towards one of these than the other depending on if i cry or what i wear. i have always been told i have hazel eyes, but recently a friend of mine said that hazel eyes are only a green/brown combo (i don't have any brown in my eyes).

so what is hazel...

I consider hazel to be light brown with yellow and green mixed in.

I consider mine hazel... they are green in bright light or if I cry and they are brownish/greenish (more brown) any other time. I love it.

Our eyes sound similar, caitycaity. I always assumed that hazel eyes were brown mixed with something. I usually just say that I have green eyes, but I used to wonder what to tell people.

I was wondering the same thing? I say DS's are hazel, but they are sort of a greenish brown. Now Im wondering if they are green or hazel.

Hazel eyes are any mixture of color. That's what I think. I would say your eyes are grebley That covers all the colors. Next time you need to fill out "eye color" on a form, such as a driver's license application, just check "other" and write that.

browneyes, usually my eyes are a mix of green and blue.

olena -- i always change what i tell people. sometimes i say green, sometimes i say blue, and sometimes i will try to explain that it's a mix.

I've always considered my youngest sister to have hazel eyes but hers are a real light brown color with a lot of golden flecks in them. Whatever color they are they are beautiful.

Someone call the DMV and ask them, they should know. Better yet, ask several of them and see if they all have the same answer or if they're as confused as we are.

saffron, the ny state dmv was one of the places that told me my eyes were hazel and they are not brown in the least, so i'm guessing they might not be too helpful.
