I would like to make a list of the off site moderate to upscale restaurants that are not frequently mentioned. Preferrably those on Sand Lake Rd. There are so many to choose from in the Dr. Phillips area. I would like some recommedations for my next trip.

I have been to Samba Room(cuban excellent)
Timpani (Italian chop house excellent)
Mortons ( I am not a steak lover(
Meltning Pot (just okay in my book)

Seasons 52! http://www.seasons52.com

I love that place. All of the food is healthy, relatively low-calorie and -- best of all -- delicious. Very innovative menu with lots of variety.

One of my favorite aspects of the restaurant is that desserts are served in shot glasses, so you can just have a "taste" of something really good, without blowing your diet.

Another vote for Seasons 52. We had an excellent meal there and found it to be quite reasonably priced considering the great level of food and service we received.

I have heard from friends of mine that Roy's is also excellent.

I know that there is a Bonefish Grill on Sand Lake Road also. While I have not eaten at the Orlando location, I have eaten at the BG on Hilton Head Island and was rather disappointed. I found it to be average seafood at inflated prices. JMO, but if anyone can speak differently about the Orlando location, I'd be interested in hearing.

I cannot remember who the parent company of Bone Fish is but I think it is either Outback or OLive Garden (shudder!). I am glad you mentinoned this. By the way Roy's is fusion cooking and it is very goog but VERY expensive.

we tried a couple of new places last month. One was Texas de Brazil. It was really good and they kids enjoyed it. Sign up on the website and they send really great coupons to take the ouch out of the bill!! http://www.texasdebrazil.com

Caddyshack was a new place, but really found it to be your average "theme" resturant.

I know House of Blues isn't really off-site (its at downtown disney) but it was a really good meal and we really don't hear as much about it as the other downtown disney resturants. DH is still talking about the banana bread pudding!
