I had recieved them and have also bought them, and given them out as gifts. I like the wide selection they have and the nice smells-especially the dessert ones.

I've bought them (on rare occasion) and also given them.. They have lots of wonderful scents, but I have found that Village Candles (from a town in Maine that I can't recall right now) tend to throw off a stronger scent when lit.. Hard for me to find the Village Candles around here though so I sent away for a catalog.. One of these days I may actually get around to ordering - LOL.. :)

I've never actually seen any YC on sale near me before. I don't want to order any online in case I don't like the smell!

I love Yankee Candles especially the ones that smell like cookies baking.

I've only received YC here through exchanges which is when I began using them. I rarely go to the YC store since it's in the mall. I frequent the local Linen's N Things even though they don't have a very big selection.

I give them away as gifts quite often and my son likes to give them to girls for their birthdays.

First of all, I think this is the first time in 4 years, I've inspired anyone on these boards.;) :D

Yes, I've given them as housewarming gifts. If you want to order online, there are a few scents imho that I don't think you can do wrong with i.e. Christmas Cookie, Vanilla Cookie, Buttercream
But I do understand you not wanting to pay the money to have it shipped overseas and then not like it. Perhaps you could participate in the next Yankee Candle exchange.

I've never bought them (think they're outrageously expensive) and I don't recall being given them.

I guess I don't get what the hype is all about... My aunt makes triple scented candles that smell up my whole house in any scent I want and any container/size I want. So I have no need to spend loads of money on a store brand, she gives me a great discount =)

Not only that, but I work at Bath and Body and have always been pleased with the few White Barn candles I've taken home... and I LOVE the new Henri Bendels we carry. Strongest candle ever made.

I have bought MANY, MANY of them :teeth: My closet is full!!
I give them as gifts all the time.
I have received them occasionally.
I love them. I have used many, many brands and Yankee is still the best!

And those that are interested.....the annual Fall Yankee Candle exchange sign-ups start on Wednesday :bounce:

I live about 45 mins from the "scenter of the universe". It is a really fun day trip to their main store. They have so much stuff, not just candles. Often they have warehouse sales and you can get certain candles for almost half price!!

A hint here, if you get the car scent thingie that is red, white, and blue and I think is called Apple Pie or something like that, sorry the meds for back are begininng to work, lol. Anyhow it smells like Mickey's Philharmagic!;)

Mrsheppo,

I've never smelled a baking coolie, but I don't imagine it smells very good! LOL

I think I would like the Vanilla Cookie candle, especially as I have a Vanilla scented one now, not YC of course!

If I could buy the candles in a store near to me and really know which ones I liked, I probably would participate in the exchange, but I don't want to take the chance right now. Hope you YC fans have fun though. :)

Not that I'm coming to the States for a while, do they have any stores near Disney at all?

I love yankee candles - especially the ones that smell like food. Gingerbread, Christmas cookie, banana bread, etc.

Belle ...they are available at some shops in the UK.
We have had UK people participate in the exchange before.....but I can't help you in which shops :(

I know here they are available at gift shops, card shops and home decor stores.

Okay, thanks Nancy. I expect I'll see them when I least expect to! ;)

What candles do you all like or use the most?

I've been having a look at them online but there is so much to choose from!

Jars/ Votives/ Tarts/

Tea Light/ Pillars/ Tapers/ Floating Candles

Bought a few, but I actually prefer the Wal Mart Mainstay candles. They're cheaper and I think they smell just as good (only there's way fewer scents). And been given some as gifts.

I love candles. :D
