Mine was a Visa (actually I was a joint signer on my dad's credit card). I had strict rules about how much I could charge of course, but it really helped teach me about maintaining good credit and responsibility. I never had to worry about what the credit card company would do to me if I messed up, I KNEW my dad would flip out, LOL! It also helped build my credit, which has been invaluable as I have started out on my own.
Mine was a Zales card. I opened the account when I was 16 or 17. It was a student account to get my class ring. I paid it off and held a job and the next thing I got was a brand new car with no co-signer. Being responsible had paid off for me.
DH was also real responsible. We bought our first house when I was 19 and he was 23.
Master Card with a $500.00 limit that over the years built up to a limit way over what I wanted it to be. I no longer have that account. Next card was probably a JC Penney card which i still have to this day.
Mine was a Mastercard. My dad worked for the bank and my senior year in high school decided that I should have a credit card so I got one. I no longer have that particular card because all my current credit cards offer me rewards for my purchases and that bank didn't so I closed out the account a couple of years ago.
