Micha Barton from the O.C. Oh man, I mean, yikes. Vapid with a captial "V." She one of those I would categorize under "Thank god you are pretty, cause otherwise you'd be making Blizzards at Dairy Queen."

I have to disagree with some on your first list. Most people who don't like Ben Affleck have probably not seen "Chasing Amy" which he is absolutely AWESOME in! And really is what established him as an actor then any other film. The character he played in "Chasing Amy" and "Good Will Hunting" are completely different from any of the "usual" characters that he gets involved in. I also really liked him in "Jersey Girl" which not many people saw because of the whole Jen/Ben thing. But really was a great fllick!

Tom Cruise - I think this is true of 80's and early 90's Tom Cruise but he has taken on many different roles as of late. "Magnolia" comes to mind as does "Collaterol (sp?)" Which he played the bad guy in and was very good at it. I also really enjoyed his perfornace in "The Last Samuri" which was a very different character then most that he has played.

Harrison Ford - his popular movies are almost always the same character but his less popular movies are the ones where he really shows his chops. "The Mosquito Coast" was a great film! I also loved him in "Regarding Henry" where it was a bit more on the dramatic side and also was the comedy of the piece as well. "Fugitive" was another one where I thought he really displayed some great acting. He had a supporing role in "Working Girl" where he was the comic relief and he was great in it.

I have to agree on all points. Glad I'm not the only person who remembers Mosquito Coast. Love that movie!

Edward James Olmos. He is playing the same character on Battlestar Glactica as he did on Miami Vice. :rotfl:

Tom Cruise did not play Tom Cruise in Born on the Fourth of July.

The one actor who I have never understood the following on was Dustin Hoffman. He's so...deadpan, all the time. I call him Mr. Monotone. All his "classic" movies (think "The Graduate", "Marathon Man", etc.) put me to sleep.

Ironically, I hated "Meet the Fockers", but I was impressed by one thing in it...I never knew Hoffman had more than one facial expression until this movie.

Nicholas Cage was a horrible actor when he first came on the scene. Before around "Moonstruck" he stunk! I mean Moses smells the roses! He's ok now, but still somewhat hard to take.

Cameron Diaz
Kate Bosworth (the last one she was in was painful to watch)
George Clooney

Wow - so many different opinions.

First, some of the worst acting I think I've ever seen has been on soap operas. Guiding Light a couple of years ago had some terrible younger actors and actresses on it. I don't watch anymore, so I can't comment on the current cast.

I agree, but you should tune in and see the plethora of fantastic younger actors they have right now. Tom Pelphrey as Reva's long lost son, Jonathon, (fathered by Richard) is phenomenal. Cassie's daughter Tammy is played by a wonderful actress Stephanie Gesault (sp?). Mandy Bruno who took over the part of Marina from the outstanding Aubrey Dollar is fantanstic and has made the part her own, and her budding romance with Danny rivals only that of Michelle and Danny when the incomparible Joie Lenz played the part. John Driscoll as Buzz's son by Jenna is a dream come true. Sandy (Scott Bailey), who impersonated Jonathon when he first came to town, is outstanding the hero, and of course, Crystal Hunt, as the really wacked out Lizzie Spaulding, is mesmerizing! You are missing a boat load of talent. These young people are the material that stars of tomorrow are made of!

Back to the original question: How could I forget Mr. One Note Kevin Costner? UGH!!! Cher, isn't much better, either.

Kevin Costner
Tom Cruise :crazy2: - always is Tom Cruise
Meg Ryan
Jack Nicholson
Cameron Diaz

I can't believe that it took 67 posts before someone named Nicholas Cage! He is just awful. It is inconceivable to me that he won an Oscar :confused3
I also agree with the poster who said that for the past 10 years or so, Al Pacino has been bad. It's so true and he was an excellent actor for many years.

To go waaaay back, I think Leslie Howard was a terrible actor. (He played Ashley Wilkes in Gone With the Wind among many other roles.) He was so hammy.

Another one- Hugh Grant!

The guy plays one type of guy: the suave, smirking womanizing Englishman.

I love Hugh Grant! Sure he might be a little typecast but I don't think that makes him a bad actor.

Melanee Griffith... I cannot STAND her voice! She can't act either.
